🍃 Hey friends! Peace doesn’t just show up at our doorstep. It has to be pursued, and sometimes, that pursuit takes every ounce of courage we have. Maybe you’ve felt that too. You long for calm, but your thoughts keep spinning. You want harmony at home, but tension hangs heavy in the air. You’re reaching for God, but life’s noise keeps crowding Him out.
Here’s the truth: Peace isn’t the absence of hard things; it’s the presence of God right in the middle of them.
Real peace isn’t passive. It doesn’t come from avoiding our struggles. It comes when we face them head-on with the strength and grace God gives us. Peace grows when we choose to pursue the God of peace. It’s not just a feeling. It’s a holy pursuit.
So today, if you're feeling stretched, anxious, or just weary, take a breath. Pause. Draw near to the One who is our peace. He’s not far off. He’s right here ready to meet you in the middle of it all.
📖 “Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.” - Psalm 34:14
🛠️ You may not feel bold today, but you have everything you need in Christ to keep going.
Here are a few ways to walk toward peace with purpose:
✅ Name what’s stealing your peace.
What have you been tolerating that’s quietly robbing your peace? Is it a fear? A conflict? An old wound? Be honest.
✅ Confront it in prayer.
Ask God to shine His light on anything within you that’s feeding it.
What do you need to turn away from? Maybe patterns or habits that are rooted in your own heart.
✅ Practice stillness and solitude.
Even a few quiet moments with God can reset your heart and silence the noise. Be brave and take some time away from your phone, computer, social media, etc.
✅ Train your heart daily.
Just as physical strength grows through daily physical activities, peace also grows through daily spiritual practices, such as prayer, Scripture, worship, solitude, service, and community.
💡 “God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing.” - C.S. Lewis
🙏 Lord, I want to be a person of peace. Help me face what I’ve avoided and invite You into every corner of my heart. Strengthen me to pursue peace with wisdom, courage, and love. Lord, help me to be still and know peace only found in you. Amen.
